Kate Wivell (she/her) joined the Biennial team in July 2021 as Development Associate. By growing support leading up to the 2022 edition of the Biennial, she aims to connect with new and diverse communities through partnerships and patron programs.

Kate holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD), and most recently completed a Masters in Art Business at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York, and the Fundraising Certificate program at Ryerson University in Toronto. With an extensive background in arts administration, her increasing focus on development stems from a desire to strengthen artist-led communities and foster robust networks of exchange rooted in collaborative, transparent, ethical engagement.

Before joining the TBA team, Kate held positions at Mercer Union, Gallery TPW, and Canadian Art in Toronto, as well as Public Art Fund and ArtTable in New York. Kate also spent eight years managing sales at Superframe.
