Deena DelZotto is passionate about the intersection of art, environmentalism, and community. Deena is currently the Creative Director and a partner at Province Apothecary, a leading Canadian clean beauty brand, rooted in sustainability and authenticity. Prior to that Deena led placemaking initiatives at Bowery Project, a not-for-profit with a mission to create opportunities for urban agriculture through the temporary use of vacant lots transforming them into vibrant growing places. Deena co-founded Bowery Project in 2013. Over the past decade, Bowery Project was selected as a Clean 50 Top Project, received grants from Ontario Trillium Foundation and Whole Kids Foundation, awarded Best Signage from BILD and The Toronto Foundation’s Vital Innovation Award.

A highlight of her years at Bowery Project was the No Lot is Vacant installation at the Expo for Design, Innovation & Technology (EDIT), a 10-day festival launched by the Canadian Design Exchange (DX) in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), where Bowery Project moved 1000 milk crates to the 6th floor roof top of the abandoned Unilever soap factory. For several years Deena also engaged in philanthropic work as an active member of The Stop’s Big Night committee which supported The Stop’s food security mandate.

Deena is a SOUL certified master organic gardener, holds an MA in Photography from NYU and the International Centre of Photography and a BA from Boston University in English and Italian Literature.
