    The Coach House is accessible. There is a paved path from Colborne Lodge Drive to the Coach House.  The building is wheelchair accessible, with a ramp at the entrance and one accessible washroom.

  • Getting There

    There are several ways to arrive at and navigate through High Park, please visit the City of Toronto High Park website for the full information. As of August 2023, High Park has implemented the High Park Movement Strategy which impacts vehicular traffic and access. Visit the website for full information.

    Walking

    Pedestrians are reminded to please stick to sidewalks and formal trails to help protect sensitive natural areas. Unpaved trails are not maintained in winter.

    There are six paved trails and/or sidewalk entrances to High Park, from: Bloor Street West and High Park Avenue, Parkside Drive and Howard Park Avenue, Parkside Drive and High Park Boulevard, Parkside Drive and Spring Road, The Queensway and Colborne Lodge Drive, and The Queensway and Ellis Park Road.

    Bicycling 

    • Bicycles are allowed on all park roads and there are dedicated bike lanes on Centre Road and Colborne Lodge Drive. West Road and a portion of Colborne Lodge Drive are car-free routes.
    • Bicycles are also permitted on paved trails. People cycling must yield to pedestrians and people using mobility devices on multi-use trails – slow down, be courteous, and be prepared to stop.
    • Bicycle parking can be found throughout the park and near some park buildings. Please do not lock bicycles to other structures or trees.
    • Bike Share Toronto operates 10 stations within and around the park including at main entrances and facilities.

    Driving – Weekends and Holidays

    Visitors are encouraged to use public transit due to road changes and parking availability in and around High Park

    • There is no vehicle access, passenger drop-off or parking at Colborne Lodge Museum on weekends and holidays.
    • All roads and most parking lots in High Park are closed to vehicles on weekends and holidays. The Spring Rd parking lot is open on weekends, but the lot is in high demand, and is usually full.

    Driving – Monday to Friday

    Most roads and parking lots in High Park are open to vehicles on weekdays. Vehicle access, passenger drop-off and limited parking is available on weekdays at:

    • Colborne Lodge drop-off/pick-up zone and parking lot: This lot has 7 spaces, of which 2 are accessible. Access via entrance at The Queensway and Colborne Lodge Drive.

    Additional parking is available at:

    • Spring Rd parking lot (opens in new window): This lot has 21 spaces. Access via entrance at Parkside Drive and Spring Road. Walk west along the park path about 10 minutes and turn right, walking up the paved, inclined Colborne Lodge Drive. Proceed about three minutes to the museum.
    • Grenadier Café parking lot (opens in new window): This lot has 130 spaces. Access via entrance at Parkside Drive and High Park Boulevard. Walk south on Colborne Lodge Drive down the paved, inclined road 10 to 15 minutes to the museum.

    Public Transit

    • The closest subway station to High Park with elevator access is Keele Station. Renovations are underway at High Park Station to install an elevator and are scheduled for completion by the end of 2024.
    • Please refer to the Toronto Transit Commission and their Triplinx planner for the most accessible route.
    • The south end of High Park and Colborne Lodge can also be accessed via the 301, 501, 504 or 504B streetcars at The Queensway at Colborne Lodge Dr (East Side or West Side).

Built by John Howard and Jemima, the Regency-era lakeside summer house of Colborne Lodge engages in the inclusion of Indigenous narratives and stories through a partnership with First Story Toronto where Indigenous guides embark on a truth-telling journey through their own lens. Colborne Lodge and the 1855 Coach House is located within High Park, which is recognized as one of the most environmentally significant areas in Toronto. Environmental management efforts within the Ravine Strategy and Biodiversity Strategy ensures the protection and preservation of this park.
