About 32 Lisgar St and Park

32 Lisgar St and Park is a property owned by the City of Toronto that was formerly used as Toronto Media Arts Centre. It is located just south of Queen Street West, which was once home to many independent galleries in Toronto before the high real estate cost pushed them to migrate further northwest.

One of three Biennial-run sites, this exhibition hub hosts sixteen artists who present works that bring together video installations, sculptures, paintings, drawings, and a VR film, including eight new commissions.

This site is also home to partner Art Metropole’s pop-up shop, open for the duration of the Biennial during opening hours. TBA totebags and catalogues, including the Precarious Joys book, as well as various related publications, artist books, and projects from Art Metropole’s collection will be available for purchase.
