What’s On

Toronto Biennial 2024 artist Rudy Loewe is joined by transmedia artist and UofT professor of black studies and the archive, SA Smythe for a conversation, which brings together practices and approaches that are rooted in Black queer and trans histories, storytelling, and belonging within and outside of the institution and across the diaspora. Within their conversation, Rudy will share aspects of their process and the ongoing development of their project for the Biennial through their residency in Toronto during April 2024.

Location details:

• This event is being hosted within SKETCH’s Lower Level located on the ‘Lower Level’ (LL). The name of the building is ‘Youngplace’ (YP).
• SKETCH studios are accessible to mobility devices.
• There is one elevator for the whole building that is used for both general and freight needs.
• There is signage for SKETCH in the elevator and on the directory on the main floor.
• There is one accessible washroom with a changing table in the back hallway, and another two-stalled all gender washroom within the SKETCH studios.
• Due to the use of some art supplies such as paint, and providing food during events, SKETCH is not a scent free space by default.
