Starlight Chinese Opera is a non-profit organization with the goal of introducing Cantonese Opera to the younger generation and the public in Canada. The organization aims to provide Canadian-born Chinese and descendants of Hong Kong Cantonese with the opportunity to explore and appreciate their own culture. Since its establishment, Starlight has been organizing annual Canadian productions, promotional activities such as workshops, and educational related activities in order to promote Cantonese Opera.

Alice Chan is a graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where she majored in Cantonese Opera. She received training from several Chinese Opera Masters, including the famous Cantonese Opera artist, the Late Dr. Lam Ka Sing, as well as musician Soong Kam Wing and Luo Pin Chao. Alice is the President/Director and instructor of the Starlight Chinese Opera Performing Arts Centre, a non-profit organization with a mission to generate more public interest in the art of Chinese Opera. She is responsible for teaching, coordinating performances and promotion, and is a founding member of Starlets, managing, directing, and tutoring with over 15 years of experience.
