Melly Davidson

2024 Program Artist

A photograph of Melly Davidson standing on a stage. She is wearing a black and red baseball cap, a black t-shirt, and a white frilled skirt with black boots. She has long curly hair. She is holding and looking at a piece of paper, a microphone in front of her. In the background are amps, a drum set, and a guitar. A light blue light washes over the image.

Melissa (Melly) Davidson is a poet, educator, and multidisciplinary artist based in Tkaronto, and a 2022 TBA Storyteller. Her work can be found in Arc Poetry Magazine, Metatron Press, Pigeon Pages, and Silverfish Magazine. Melly facilitates poetry based arts programming with local organizations for queer youth. They’re interested in distorting the relationships between what is considered silly vs serious, and profane vs sacred. Melly’s current process is informed by collaging, screen recording, “pocket trash” collecting, and big time collaboration.
