TBA’s Storytelling Program creates a model of contemporary art mediation that combines conventional interpretation with artist-led, narrative and embodied responses to the artworks presented in the Biennial.

At our third Biennial, local multidisciplinary artists are commissioned to develop Storytelling sessions that are created from their personal insights and experiences of the city. Storytellers Jingshu Yao, Laura Carvalho, and Siki Soberetonari will guide visitors through the exhibition artists’ installations, research, and perspectives and offer regular weekly walks and conversations to intergenerational audiences and school groups throughout the Biennial. TBA further engages Storytellers year-round to support our school and community engagement initiatives.

School-aged audiences will be led by R.I.S.E. Edutainment Storyteller Shadel Chavez in free full or half day tours and workshops located at our main site at 32 Lisgar Street. Please see the School Programs page for more details.
